Because of a change in Vermont law, graduation from high school will be based on proficiencies instead of credits. Proficiency-based education is teaching & measuring skills that students will need to be successful in the real world. The focus is on personalized learning; students have much more flexibility in how they learn and master the proficiencies that they need to graduate. They still have the option of mastering proficiencies by taking classes, but they will also be able to learn independently through online classes and extended learning opportunities in the community. The learning at EFHS is increasingly project-based and our goal is to make it as relevant for each individual student as we can.
