My name is Mrs. Lan Nguyen Ullrich, and this is my 13th year teaching at Enosburg Falls High School. I teach Modern World Literature I & II, Social Justice & Equity, and Ancient Greek Literature.
This is my 12th year working as an in-school coordinator (ISC) for the Northern Vermont University - Johnson Upward Bound Program as an educational liaison, which is an academic program for first generation college bound students who come from modest income families to help students with the college application process.
I'm a full-time working mother of two small children, certified Aromatherapist (Level I), and business owner of Simply Organic Body Wellness. I try to incorporate aromatherapy and mindfulness into my practice as a classroom teacher. I earned my bachelor's degree in English and master's degree in Education from Johnson State College (now NVU).
I come from a family of immigrants, as both of my parents are immigrants from two different Asian countries. This is one of the major reasons why pursuing higher education (and studying how education impacts local and global communities) is so important to me, and I work to emphasize this with my students. I thoroughly enjoy working with high school students. Teaching literature and writing is a wonderful way to explore the world and gain a better understanding of various cultures, philosophies, time periods, and the human condition.
