Welcome to Ms. Emmell’s page. This year, will be my second year at Enosburg Falls High School as the Algebra teacher on the 9th grade team. I teach all sections of Algebra 1 including one section of Algebra for EFMS 8th grade students. I am also teaching one Algebra 2 class this year. I am originally from Bristol, Vermont and have enjoyed my first year of teaching and learning from the students of Franklin County. In May of 2015, I graduated from Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont with a BS in Mathematics and Secondary Education. Outside of school I enjoy hiking, cooking, swimming, and spending time with friends and family. I like math and hope you will learn to like math as well!
I am excited to start another year at EFHS and get to know students and families. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. I believe family involvement is essential to student’s success and I look forward to embarking on this partnership together.
Please visit my algebra website to find up to date information including homework assignments, daily agendas, helpful links, grading information, and course resources. Also note that course syllabi are attached to the bottom of this page.
Grades in both Algebra 1 and 2 will be weighted according to the following 3 assessment categories:
Homework and other practice assignments will be recorded in powerschool but not calculated as part of the final grade. Students who do not demonstrate proficiency on an assignment or skill will be allowed to retake the assessment after correcting their mistakes and making a plan to ensure adequate practice to understand the content. Assignments that are not yet proficient will receive a grade of "NY" meaning "Not Yet”. Please see additional information on grading policies in course syllabuses attached below.
